Trade Secrets for Meeting Planners: Inside the 720

Help! CPME 720 (July 2025) 6.4 does not state how often attendees must sign in for credits. The requirement only lists suggested methods for signing in.

This was addressed in the Q&A from the June 2, 2025 training webinar:

Q: Was the attendance verification of every 4 hours removed from the document?

A: Yes, the provider only needs to have a method to record attendance and verify participation.

The previous version (2020) stipulated two attendance verifications per day unless an event was four hours or less, then only one was required.

The only mention of “4 hours” in the new 720 is in Appendix B where it says there must be one 15-minute break for every four hours of continuous instruction… but no mention of signing in during that break.

So… am I correct to interpret this to mean if an event (for example) is 3 days with 7 credit hours each day, the provider only needs to verify attendance (attendee sign-in) at the end of the third day, as long as attendees receive a 15-minute break every four hours?

What do you think? Should I ask CPME or is that inviting all kinds of vague explanations?
