Back in my April newsletter, I made a big deal about tracking marketing metrics—and how every channel, even the underachievers, plays a role in the bigger picture.
I promised to share a spreadsheet to help you stay on top of it all.
Well… it’s here.
Now, full disclosure: I went way too far down the rabbit hole trying to make the perfect tracking template. I sampled templates from Google Sheets, poked around Airtable, and even played with Canva’s shiny new Sheets feature.
You know what I learned after all that? Simplicity wins. Every. Single. Time.
Honestly, I built a few spreadsheets so complicated they needed their own IT department.
And now I am the cautionary tale.
So take this advice to heart: just start tracking. Don’t wait until your fonts match or the dashboard is sexy. Slap the data in. You can make it cute later.
Pro tip: Use formulas to automate what you can.
Pro-er tip: If automation makes your eyes glaze over, hire a Zapier wizard on Fiverr to hook up your reports and drop the data in automatically. Saves you time (and trust me—time is money, especially if you bill by the hour).
Once you’ve got a little data rolling, go wild with charts and graphs if you want. But the key is to start. Messy action beats spreadsheet perfection every time.
