The food for the vendors lunch was pathetic, and a disgrace to the vendors. A stick in the face is what I call it. Its’ like getting a “vendor – photographer” at a wedding, which by the way is appropriate. But for this where the vendor is paying for the food, space etc its just unfair and in my opinion unacceptable. We just did a CME program and the vendors were placed at the top of the food chain, just like I mentioned above, and both days guests were able to speak to the vendors as they needed to get their morning coffee by passing all the vendor tables. Back to the food, pizza is a joke, I spoke to the catering mgr and the Food and Beverage director and they both stated there was plenty of food left over to offer to the vendors, on top of that I saw myself that there was plenty of food. I’m happy to explain the F/B side of the business as I used to work for Marriott for 15 years and was on the other side of things and can explain how the guarantee number thing works. call me anytime. Remember you need vendors to support this event, please act like it. If you can run the event with no vendor money, i would do it and then you don’t have to work hard to hide us. not a good thing. I think you pissed off many vendors but many will NOT speak their minds on this for fear of not letting them in next year. They deal with this all the time and just deal with it.

I have had the privilege of being around when Dermfoot begin. I watched Dr. Joyce’s hard work and fortitude turn this landmark dermatology meeting into the successful conference it is known for today. In the past 3 years, Exhibitor Opportunities increased from only 10 available booths at Dermfoot to over 50 which sell out each year. The quality of the dermfoot speakers is what exhibitors must look for when choosing a meeting. Dermfoot provided my laser company Zuckerman Future Technology with the platform to successfully launch the Remy Laser. It is extremely important and smart to choose a meeting that is high quality and attracts the right doctors to your booth Dermfoot meets my criteria for attending as an exhibitor. First the quality of the speakers as well as topics and the organizers are extremely important. Understanding meeting locations and most important attracting the podiatrists who are leading our profession is paramount. You need exposure but quality is more important I still can’t believe how young Dermfoot is as an organization and just how fast it has made its mark. I highly recommend Dermfoot and the organization especially Dr Anette Joyce, Meeting Chair.

there are ways to have better traffic, I”m happy to show the hotel a better diagram and Dr. Joyce knows this. Food should be placed in the back of the vendor room so they attendees must pass the tables to get their food. Remember the vendors basically pay for the show and should be treated as such. they are in no way second class, a matter of fact they are the ones who shine through this all. except for the 1st day the other 2 days were slow. But if they guests were basically forced to get their food in the back of the room they would mingle more with the vendors.

This is a wonderful way to refresh dermatology knowledge and update practice protocol.

The conference admin did a good job of organizing. It Would have been helpful to send the new meeting link at the start of every day. In the first two days I didn’t get the new link, so I just logged in with my old one, not realizing that this was how the attendance was tracked. The admin dealt with it right away and resolved the issue. Otherwise, there were a few virtual link related issues, but everything went smoothly for the most part.

There was a little too much down time at certain points. Also, it was a bit confusing with watching the lectures on one platform then having to switch to another for non-credit talks, and the sign in links were sometimes confusing – they were in the email but then also in the chat bar, just one place is better!

It is a wide range of dermatological concerns of the foot that need not be overlooked. We are to give the patient our full attention no matter how small the issue is!!

This was an excellent conference and great value. Loved the fact that it was virtual. This made it accessible for international attendees. Given the pandemic, as well as the cost of travel, plus the logistics of trying to schedule down time away from my busy practice, there was really no way that I would have travelled to the conference venue (pandemic or no pandemic). Most speakers were very engaging and presented highly relevant derm info from a podiatric perspective. It was an intense and highly informative conference.

No lectures on warts? I felt that 50% of the lectures were great and 50% were forgettable. There were multiple lectures on rare disorders. If we could hit home the basics a bit more I’d really appreciate it. The nail council content is always fabulous, more of them please. Dock Dockery does a great job with relevant content. I felt like this year they were thinking of what was done in the past and wanted to do something different, but I disagree. Let’s hit home the most important stuff year after year – nail fungus, nail surgery, warts, skin cancer, then the multitude of rashes and disorders presenting in the skin.

The lectures were diverse and different from previous DermFoot meetings, which was much appreciated! Other conferences spit out the same information year after year and that gets old quickly. DermFoot has consistently provided a variety of topics – all relevant to how I practice – as well as interesting refreshers on topics that may have been briefly discussed before. The content is interesting every time and the speakers tend to be quite engaging.

Some content was helpful. 2 lectures back to back on techniques in anesthetizing a toe was a bit beneath the audience, those sitting around me agreed. Moreover, reviewing current concepts in treating fungal nail infections likewise was redundant, as nothing new was really presented. positives, lectures regarding diagnosis, management of skin lesions including subungal lesions was helpful.

This year and last year there were no additional costs as the conference was virtual. Previously the cost was enough to actually think about whether or not I could register and attend. I attended a virtual conference with the National Medical Association for 2 days and I was given a Grubhub eCard for meals delivered to my home each day. This was reasonable and expected. It is was held in person meals would have been included.
