TRAVEL TIPS: Los Angeles, CA

MEET
It’s all glamour and glitz in Hollywood… and podiatry is here to make those feet on the Walk of Fame look good!

EAT

One of Sarah’s & Ann’s favorite things to do when they travel to a podiatry meeting is finding new and interesting places to eat!  Sarah is usually on the lookout for seafood and the rarest steak she can find, while Ann continues to seek out the best Mexican restaurants in the area!

DON’T FORGET – when you’re in the West you must crush an In-N-Out Burger!

See helpful reference picture guide of how to appropriately destroy a delicious In-N-Out Double Burger.

Ann’s Pick
When in LA, seek out true “street” tacos from a taco truck or stand. These locations don’t have websites, but do a Google search and try:

  • El Primo Tacos

  • Taqueria Mi Ranchito

If you’re in the mood to sit down and enjoy your dinner, and maybe add a margarita, head to: Mi Ranchito Veracruz

Sarah’s Pick
Even though L.A. is the place to be right now, Sarah’s favorite place in the whole word is Nashville, TN.  So, here come some spicy chicken, Nashville-style recommendations!

PLAY
If you are lucky enough to stay in the area a bit longer and find time to explore… here are some of the area’s top attractions and activities!

You might think it’s expensive to visit one of L.A.’s many world-class museums, but that’s not the case at all.
In fact, museums like the Getty Center and Getty Villa, the California Science Center at Exposition Park, and the Hammer Museum in Westwood are free every single day!

There aren’t many places where you can tour an original Frank Lloyd Wright home, so be sure to add the Hollyhock House to your list.
Hollyhock is one of 17 Wright buildings named his most important works by the American Institute of Architecture.

And of course – the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a tourist must-do.
Look up your favorite icon’s star location and visit it while you’re in town. Wikipedia has the most comprehensive listing.

Make sure you see it all with a Hollywood bus tour. Ultimate Hollywood Tours will take you to all the can’t miss spots, plus will stake out some celebrity homes.

You may also get to escape down the road for a quick 15 or 20 minute drive!  Hermosa Beach has so much going on with trendy restaurants and bars!  Sarah was just there recently and had a great time watching the sun set on the Pier!
